OLYMPIC Steerable-Drives are heavy duty, 360 degree steerable marine propulsion units designed for continuous operation in tough work boat applications. Combining marine gear, propeller and power steering mounted in one water tight housing, OLYMPIC Steerable-Drives replace conventional marine gears, propellers shafts, stuffing boxes, shaft struts, propellers and bearings, rudders, rudder stocks, hydraulic steering with one easily installed package.
Our drives have full power follow up, hydraulic steering system that deliver propeller thrust throughout an endless 360 degree rotation, providing positive and powerful vessel control in all directions, including astern. Maximum drive protection is provided by a special shear pin equipped input coupling which protects the drive if the propeller hits bottom or other obstructions and that can be replaced quickly without hauling the vessel.

OLYMPIC Steerable-Drives are available in three models; the HD3 rated @ 149 kW (200 hp), the SD1 rated @ 104 kW (140 hp) and the UD2 rated@75 kW (100 hp), all for continuous operation. Click here to download product specifications for individual models.

OLYMPIC Steerable-Drives feature a built in 2:1 gear reduction ratio. Models HD3 and SD1 can swing a 686 mm (27”) diameter, four blade propeller and model UD2 can swing a 586 mm (24”) diameter, four blade propeller. Drives are easily mounted, using our proprietary mounting ring and neoprene seal that is included with the drive.
